Power from the Sun
Some day, people in the future will wonder why we were so eager to fight wars, threaten our children's health, and destroy our natural world through our use of fossil fuel technologies, when one of the answers to our energy needs shone down on us from the sky every day. All Earth's living systems are powered by the sun. We are part of life on Earth. So we should start to use the sun as a source of energy. Solar power is abundant, clean, and belongs to no-one. There will never be a war to control the flow of the sun. No corporation can own it. It is freely available to all.
This site, part of the US Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, will help you to start thinking about the benefits of solar power, and how it could be incorporated into your home.
