Electric Cars Are Really Cool!
PlugInAmerica.com - Promoting Plug-in Cars for a Better America
If you drive less than 50 miles a day, why not consider a plug-in electric car. Plug-in cars capable of 50 miles per day would meet the needs of 80% of the American driving public. Source: U.S. Department of Transportation. Trucks and SUVs can be plugged in too. Find out more about these most efficient vehicles on this interesting site.
Take Action Against a Misleading Auto Advertisment.
An ad camapign in Washington has been launched by the Auto Alliance claiming that “Autos manufactured today are virtually emission-free”. However, this is not true. In fact, some vehicles today produce more global warming pollution than the models of 20 years ago. The Union of Concerned Scientists are asking people to sign a letter to be sent to the Federal Trade Commission asking them to open an investigation into this false advertising.
See the ad in question, read the facts, and decide if you want to be part of this petition.
There are many cost-effective technologies available to help auto manufacturers make this claim a fact. Pressure from consumers may be the best way to get them to realize that people really do want to drive cars that actually are 99% cleaner.
