Teflon,Goretex, Scotchguard and Stainmaster, brands that we are all familiar with, are products of a chemical group called perfleuorochemicals (PFCs). Recent studies have shown that these are perhaps the most noxious and persistent global contaminents ever made. They are found everywhere: non-stick cookware, waterproofed clothing, cosmetics, baseball mitts, dental floss, luggage, boots, shoes, gloves, camping equipment, carpets, and furniture.
